Ashley and Jim's July Wedding A Stunning Seaside Celebration at Shining Tides

This ethereal, sea-side chic wedding at Shining Tides (one of our exclusive venues) was family-focused, thought filled, and so beautiful.

Shining Tides is a turn of the century family estate set on serene Mattapoisett Harbor. We adore the giant Cape Cod style porch, facing a backdrop of sparkling water, sand, sailboats, and seagrass. Ashley and Jim chose the venue because of the gorgeous view and the fact that money from their wedding went to help kids go to camp. We love a couple that loves to give back!

Having delicious gluten free options was important to this bride, and accommodating her wishes was no issue for Russell Morin’s chefs, who put together a delicious spread (check it out below). The couple also loves seafood, so we incorporated a local seafood bar at cocktail hour — the oysters were a total hit! And we’d be remiss not to mention the show stopping homemade cookie display that the bride’s mother and aunts put together (in line with a fun Pittsburgh tradition).

The Menu

Passed Hors D'Oeuvres

  • Blackened tuna with avocado relish, wonton crisp
  • Nashville hot chicken bites with housemade pickle
  • Bacon wrapped scallops, marinated in mirin and soy
  • Beef Wellington with Boursin cheese and merlot demi
  • Caprese mozzarella with roasted red tomato
  • Rhode Island landscape station: RI oysters (with tangy cocktail sauce, tabasco, horseradish, mignonette), mini lobster rolls, shrimp cocktail

Salad

  • Mixed greens mélange with grape tomatoes, cucumbers, kalamata olives with basil, red wine vinaigrette

Entrées

  • Tuscan Filet with roast garlic, lemon and parmesan crust and red wine pan sauce. Served with herb and asiago whipped Yukon potatoes and roasted asparagus with lemon zest and olive oil.
  • Roast Staler Chicken Provencal, marinated with fresh herbs, fennel, lemon and lavender and roast garlic jus. Served with summer vegetable risotto cake and roasted asparagus with lemon zest and olive oil.
  • Wild Mushroom Ravioli with madeira cream sauce, sautéed mushrooms, and wilted spinach
